Terpstra Advisory was founded by Robert-Jan Terpstra, a Dutch Chartered Treasurer (RT) with twenty years of experience in corporate treasury and capital markets across Europe and Asia.

Robert-Jan spent eleven years at Aegon, a global insurance company, as Senior Treasury Manager, where he ran the full treasury function ranging from cash management to FX hedging and from debt issuance to replacing Treasury Management Systems.

Before that, he was VP FX Sales at RBS in London covering corporate and institutional Benelux clients. He relocated from the Netherlands to Shenzhen in 2026 and now works with European companies across Hong Kong and Southern China that need senior treasury judgment without the cost or lead time of a permanent hire.

With twenty years of experience in executing transactions, managing relationships, and getting things done inside the organization, this is not advisory from a distance.
